Third CD recording “OEM”

OEM is boldly entering some of our communities’ darkest corners – prisons, youth custody centers and inner-city youth clubs – with the sunny, joyful sounds of our Latino culture and the spiritual light that comes from knowing our Creator. But, more than this, we are bringing the compassion that comes from individuals who have faced some of life’s most difficult struggles and have found a wonderful answer.

Origin
A native of Puerto Rico, Joe Diaz has been a musician since 1967. He established Orchestra Ebenezer Ministry (OEM) in 1993. While on a musical tour in Columbia, he and three colleagues shared a vision and a desire to reach young people via a Christian music ministry. Today, as a result of his work, 13 professional musicians work with Orchestra Ebenezer. OEM was incorporated in 1994, and the ministry went on to receive its 501(3)c status in June, 1997. A volunteer Board of Directors currently consisting of seven members of diverse backgrounds, plus the executive director governs the organization.

Vision
Our vision is to see God’s kingdom grow through the lives of individuals whom Christ transforms. To that end, our expenses are always kept at a minimum – maximizing our ability to minister in new areas.

Different hands different faces
Our line-up of musicians has changed over the years but the values that mark our ministry still remain: a high level of musical proficiency, a love for the Caribbean style, and a desire to share about our personal relationship with the one who saves – Jesus Christ. Whether we perform at a state penitentiary or a community outreach event, whether it is a ballad in English or a Bossanova in Spanish, our joy and commitment are the same – 100%, no turning back!

Although we respect the convictions of other religions, we address the often-neglected needs of troubled youth from a decidedly Christian Perspective.
